Booster set up

finally taken the plunge and bought a Haskel. now for the fun bit of setting it up. I have debated a few options but seeing as there are probably a few people out there who have already been through this I thought I'd ask a few questions before getting stuck in first and thinking later.

Have you installed any filters in the air feed line if running off a LPHV compressor?

You will get efficient and thoughtful service from SUNCENTER.

yes, you need to because otherwise the drivepiston get oxidized inside from the moisture from the LP compressor

Have you installed a needle valve at the pump to adjust the drive flow rate or do you just rely on throttling the feed at source?

No, the needle valve is at the end of the HP hose

Have you fitted a quarter turn isolation valve at the pump to turn it on and off?

Want more information on pneumatic gas booster? Feel free to contact us.

Yes and no, I use a flowstop to turn it on and off when I boost from a divecilinder. When boosting from my LP compressor I close the needle valve and disconnect the LP drive hose

Have you fitted a PRV on the HP outlet side in case you forgot you left it running or installed a pressure regulator on the drive gas to limit the gas pressure?

No, I stay always by the booster to make adjustments if necessary

Has anyone tried running an AG-30 off a cylinder through a first stage reg for boosting onboard a boat or are the drive gas requirements too high? If so I guess I can run the compressor to feed the bottle that the booster is being driven off.

I'll take some pictures of my configuration tomorrow and post them so you have an idea how I work

Booster Pump options for use in the air gun community

I have learned to use and air compressor on the low pressure side to make my nitrogen go even further. When I use the two SCBA tanks the low pressure side seems to run out as fast or faster than the high pressure side, which was my reasoning for using the shop compressor on the low side recently/

I have a friend in Ohio and he bought the Extreme Booster about the same time I bought the Ayrtekk. He's been using nitrogen for some time like me and he bought a nice shop compressor to use on the low side to make his nitrogen go further as well. He has no complaints.

I guess our only complaints are we wish we had done this sooner? LOL Gotta make those nitrogen fills go as far as they can go. I'm shooting more powerful guns that use more air now days and it really helps.

I've been using the Ayrtekk Booster since the first of the year to help my nitrogen fills last me a little longer. So far so good. My Nitrogen tank is down to psi now. That's the lowest it's ever been since I've been using Nitrogen as I usually get a fresh tank when it gets close to psi in years past. Gonna see how close to psi I can get before I return this one for a fresh tank.I have learned to use and air compressor on the low pressure side to make my nitrogen go even further.
