Bamboo Baby Clothes: Everything You Need to Know!

Many people are discovering the benefits of bamboo baby clothes, yet it’s still somewhat new in some circles. At Little Biscuits, we love how cozy, soft, and comfortable bamboo fabric is against baby’s skin. There are still plenty of questions about using bamboo baby clothes, so we’ve attempted to answer most of them.

For more information, please visit our website.

Is it worth it to choose bamboo baby clothes?

Bamboo baby clothes come with numerous advantages, making them a worthwhile choice for your baby. The fabric is exceptionally soft, heat-regulating, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, breathable, and durable. Its durability makes bamboo baby clothes a long-lasting investment, often surviving through multiple babies and thus providing more value for your money.

Do bamboo baby clothes last longer than other types of fabrics?

The stretchiness and resilience of bamboo viscose fabrication contribute to its longevity. It’s durable enough to withstand the active lifestyle of babies and toddlers and can endure frequent washings. Bamboo's breathability and lightweight nature do not compromise its strength, allowing it to hold up well even with repetitive use and washing.

How do I wash bamboo baby clothes?

Bamboo clothes don’t require any special care. They can be washed in a regular wash cycle in cold water. They will do better if they are hung out to dry. This will help the fabric last longer and maintain its strength.

Is a bamboo blanket good for a baby?

Bamboo blankets are great for swaddling your babies. The special fabrication helps keep babies cozy and secure. The material has a natural stretch that also gives a little as the baby moves, keeping them comfortable. Bamboo blankets are breathable and possess thermal-regulating and insulating properties, helping to keep your baby cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather.

Is bamboo better than cotton?

Bamboo fabric boasts qualities absent in traditional cotton. One significant advantage is its resistance to bacteria. While the bamboo plant undergoes processes to convert into fabric, it retains its antimicrobial properties. In contrast, cotton and other fabrics often promote rapid bacterial growth, leading to unpleasant odors. Bamboo maintains its bacteria-killing properties even after numerous washes.

Can bamboo help with eczema?

Bamboo fabric is incredibly gentle, making it suitable for babies with delicate or sensitive skin. Its moisture-wicking properties pull 50% more moisture away from the skin compared to cotton, ensuring that your baby stays comfortable. Many fabrics cling to the skin, causing irritation and rashes. Bamboo's natural properties help prevent such skin reactions, making it an excellent choice for babies prone to eczema and other skin conditions.

Is bamboo eco-friendly?

Yes. Bamboo plants are easy to grow so they can be replenished quickly. They also use a lot less water than cotton plants, which provides greater sustainability.

Is bamboo safe to use with babies?

Bamboo fabric is very safe to use with your baby. It’s extremely soft and gentle against your baby’s delicate skin. Since the bamboo plant is disease resistant, it doesn’t require the use of sprays and pesticides like other plants require to survive. Bamboo fabric also helps your baby maintain a safe body temperature due to its thermal-regulating nature.

9. Do the bamboo fabrics contain fibre made from bamboo?

Absolutely. When we state that a product contains bamboo, it will contain natural bamboo fibre. The Bamboo Fabric Store guarantees that all products labeled bamboo are made from bamboo fibre.

10. I would like to make products for commercial sale. What fabric do you suggest?

We choose manufacturers that produce high-quality fabric. Popular materials for nappies include fleece, velour, and terry cloths. For clothing, we suggest jersey, fleece, and interlock. Terry and velour are also popular in activewear apparel.

It is highly recommended that if you intend to use fabrics from Bamboo Fabric Store in commercial products, you test your product extensively before selling it. We will not be responsible for product complaints by your customers. It is your responsibility to ensure the fabrics are appropriate for your commercial needs.

For more information on absorbency tests, dye tests, and durability, please visit Bamboo Fabric Store USA.

11. You say you're an ethical and environmental business. What does that mean to you?

It means not importing and selling goods manufactured unethically. We believe in sustainable industries, and bamboo fibres are truly ecological. Our information pages have more on why bamboo is a preferred fabric environmentally.

We are also exploring eco-friendly packaging options for shipping your packages. We do not automatically include paper invoices but give you the choice at checkout to request this if you wish.

12. I have heard bamboo wadding/batting is highly flammable?

Bamboo is no more flammable than cotton. For the wadding to ignite, the cotton cover has to reach flash point first. The wadding will be the last thing to ignite, and bamboo is far superior to polyester in this regard. If you are concerned, we suggest using wool as it has a slightly higher flash point.
