The size of a single court for playing one on one is 6 metres wide by 20 metres long.

And the measurements for padel courts for children are 5 metres wide by 10 metres long, these courts are recommended for children up to the age of 6 years old.

In comparison, the tennis court is bigger than a padel court, the measurements in tennis are 23.77m x 10.97m wide. This means that you can fit more padel courts than tennis courts in a small space and therefore increase the profitability of your club.

&#;

What are the advantages of having a padel court instead of any other sports facility?

  • Padel is a very social game, suitable for people of all ages, gender and physical conditions. It&#;s easier to learn than tennis and other racquet sports.
  • Padel courts take up less space than tennis ones and much less than football pitches or basketball halls.
  • It only takes 4 people (or 2 if they are single courts) to rent a court and play.
  • Padel is the fastest growing sport in the world, IIn Europe alone, in the last two years, more than 10,000 padel courts have been built and more than 2,990 clubs have been created. There are currently more than 18 million active padel players in the world.

&#;

How do you know if it is more profitable to have a padel court than a tennis court or any other facility?

The average duration of a padel match is 90 minutes, although the players who are going to enjoy themselves can rent the court perfectly well for 2 hours.

Prices to rent  a court in Europe for 1,5h can vary from 8 to 20&#; per person, depending on the location. If it&#;s  occupied 4,5h per day ( just 3 sessions) this mean that each court can make at least from 2.880&#; to 7.800&#; per month.

As a curious fact, in consolidated padel centres with a large number of players, this occupancy can reach 80%.

How is a padel court: measurements and dimension

After the paddle tennis racket and the ball, the most important thing to play this sport properly is a paddle tennis court. They have to have specific measurements and dimensions, according to the regulations.

After the padel racket and the ball, the most important thing to play this sport properly is a padel court. They have to have specific measurements and dimensions, according to the regulations.

In Zona de Pádel we provide you with all the information about the sport of padel so that you have all the possible elements to decide if padel is right for you or not.

We present to you, below, the different measures that a padel court must have in order for it to be statutory and to be able to play padel matches with the best conditions.

Padel court dimensions

A padel court must be 10 meters wide by 20 meters long. In this way, each half of the track is made up of a 10 meter by 10 meter square. This means that the padel court has two symmetrical parts. Therefore a padel court must have 200 square meters.

The interior of the track also has to comply with specific measures. Between the wall and the service line there must be a distance of 3 meters. In addition, each track line must have a specific thickness of 5 cm. These have to be white or of a color that makes them perfectly distinguishable from the track surface.

The perimeter of the track is closed by four walls. The height of each of these walls must be at least 3 meters. The side walls can have a rectangular shape 3 meters high and 4 meters long in steps, according to the European type.

The funds must have a minimum height of four meters. They can be made of different materials: standard wall, glass or plastic. In addition, the regulation also offers the possibility that the first meters are of this material and that the rest are of metal fence.

Three materials can be used on the surface: synthetic grass, cement or carpet. It is good that both the grass and the carpet have a bit of special sand so that movement on the court is easier. The colors of the surface can be, regulation in hand, blue, green or brown-earthy.

A padel court also includes access to it, also established in the regulations.

The padel net

The padel net must have a length of 10 meters long and a height between 0.88 and 0.92 meters.

At each end of the net there are two perfectly protected lateral posts to avoid blows, and between them there must be a metallic cable that has a maximum diameter of 0.01 meter.

Access to the padel court

The accesses to the padel court must be located either on the sides or on one side only.

Each opening must have specific measurements. The size must be a minimum of 1.05 x 2.00 meters if there is only one access on the side. With two entrances, on the other hand, each hole must have a minimum of 0.72 x 2.00 meters and a maximum of 0.82 x 2.00 meters.

Apart from the interior of the court and the accesses, another key aspect in a padel court is lighting. Especially to be able to play when there is no sunlight.

Padel court lighting

The padel courts must have a minimum of four lights and these will have to be located outside the court next to the walls of the lateral enclosures.

The minimum height of the spotlights that illuminate the padel court must be at least 6 meters. The minimum lighting power necessary to illuminate a padel court must be 400-500 lux and double that in the event that the match is broadcast on television.

This is the most important thing that you should know about the measurements and dimensions of a regulation padel court and that in Zona de Pádel we have gladly explained to you to offer you the best information about this sport.
