Introduction
The production process of double wall corrugated pipes involves several intricate stages and uses sophisticated machinery. Pars Ethylene Kish has leveraged recent advancements in technology to innovate the production process of these pipes. Using machinery built by Drossbach Maschinenbau GmbH of Germany, they have created a production line that includes suction machines, material silos, extruders, corrugators, cooling tanks, hauling machines, saws, and other necessary equipment. This has resulted in pipes that exhibit higher resistance, quality, and longevity.
Steps in the Production Process
Raw Material Preparation
This crucial stage requires collaboration among staff at different levels. From purchase orders to mixing and transferring materials to the extruder funnel, every step is integral. The raw materials are approved by an operational team based on their technical specifications. Quality control agents then sample these materials upon arrival and evaluate them according to standard tests like melt flow index (MFI), density tests, oxidative induction times (OIT), humidity tests, and soot dispersion tests.
Extrusion
During the extrusion stage, the raw materials are melted at high temperatures in the extruder. Proper thermal adjustment is vital, as it affects the type of polyethylene and the final product quality. The molten polyethylene then passes through a tank to form a pipe shape.
Corrugation
With the pipe formed, the corrugation process begins. The outer surface of the pipe is corrugated using rotary and continuous dies under a vacuum situation, while the inner surface remains smooth. This stage requires precise thermal adjustments and continuous monitoring to ensure the correct thickness and quality of the pipe layers.
Calibration
Cooling is essential for stabilizing the dimensions of plastic pipes, a process known as calibration. Water nozzles surrounding the pipe along the calibrator cool it down, with the water temperature meticulously controlled.
Final Quality Control
The final stage involves sampling the finished pipe and performing various tests to confirm its quality. The quality control unit ensures that the final product meets the required specifications before it is released.
Applications and Specifications
Corrugated pipes are predominantly used for sewage collection and transmission. International standards demand these pipes to have mechanical resistance between 16 to 31.5 Newton per square meter. In Iran, the standard insists on a mechanical resistance of 31.5 Newton per square meter. The manufactured corrugated pipes must adhere to these specifications to ensure effectiveness.
Pipe Sizes
Corrugated pipes are available in various sizes ranging from 110 mm to 2500 mm in diameter. Each size serves different purposes in industrial applications and sewage systems.
Conclusion
Double wall corrugated pipes produced by Pars Ethylene Kish come in different colors and are designed to prevent tapering and water leakage, thereby increasing their robustness and lifespan.
