Happy Island opened its doors, or rather slides, this September 2019! It has already been amply titled the biggest water amusement park in South Africa, boasting an array of water-related rides, slides, and activities.

Located in the Gauteng province, north of Johannesburg, Happy Island is like diving into another world, forgetting that you are just minutes from the bustling city of Jozi.

Happy Island spans across 4 large properties making it ideal for all ages with specially designed rides and park areas for the little ones and some adrenaline-pumping thrill slides for the bigger kids - a perfect day out for the whole family!

Happy Island Water World boasts 15 epic slides, the biggest wave pool we have ever seen, and various pools for those looking for a hydro massage.

Happy Island Slides & Pools

Happy Island is all about firsts - the first of its kind in the Gauteng area not to mention the largest, and the first to feature the Typhoon slide!

All rides, slides, and facilities are carefully monitored by CCTV cameras and a full staff of medics and ILS registered paramedics are on hand in case of any emergencies.

Your entrance band allows you access to all rides and slides all day!

Please Note: Parents are advised to monitor smaller children during all activities and play.

Wave Pool

Experience the 2 largest Wave Pools in Africa, measuring an epic 20,000 square meters - the hydraulic mechanisms pump out waves at regular intervals.

  • Restrictions: All ages
  • Children are to be accompanied by an adult

Gravity Loop

Be sucked down a near vertical slide into a massive loop reaching speeds of up to 60km/h with a 2.5 g-force hitting your body in less than 2 seconds.

  • Restrictions: Must be taller than 1.3m and weigh less than 740kgs
  • ⚠️This ride is not intended for pensioners, pregnant women, and children

Lazy River

The Lazy River is perfect for all ages, gently float on rubber tubes along the 850m course through the stunning surrounds of the waterpark. Grab your tubes at the entrance to the river (single or double) and enjoy the gentle cruise.

  • Restrictions: All ages
  • Children are to be accompanied by an adult

High Speed Slide

Zoom down back to the earth at 40km/h on the High-Speed Slide, this is not for the faint-hearted.

  • Restrictions: Must be taller than 1.3m and weigh between 40kgs and 120kgs
  • ⚠️This ride is not intended for pensioners, pregnant women, and children
